Annual Dinner
The Sonoma County ACLU Annual Dinner and Awards Presentation will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2003 at 5:30pm at the Santa Rosa Veterans Memorial Auditorium.
James Brosnahan, noted San Francisco attorney who recently represented accused American Taliban John Walker Lindh, will talk about how the government's war on terrorism trampled on his client's civil rights, and endangers some of the most basic freedoms afforded to all citizens by the U.S. Constitution.
We will present our annual Jack Green Civil Liberties Award to a Sonoma County resident who has made extraordinary contributions to the advancement of civil liberties. Our 2002 award winner was Maria Rifo.

We are seeking nominations for the Mario Savio Student Activist Award. This award goes to a local high school or college student who has demonstrated leadership qualities exemplified by the late Mario Savio. Savio was the leader of the Berkeley Free Speech movement in the 1960's sparking progressive changes in campuses across the USA.
